Trail Of Ice And Fire Guided Hike

Take in the spectacular views from the upper mountain and witness the evidence of ice and fire that shaped the landscape over thousands of years. A two hour moderate hike with an interpretive guide will ignite your imagination as to how this landscape would have looked during the last Ice Age.

  • Difficulty: Moderate.
  • Duration: 2 hours.
  • Dates: Available June 21 until September 29, 2019. (if conditions allow).
  • Time: 2:00pm (for custom times please contact guides@skilouise.com).
  • Group Size: 2 to 12.

Rates - 2020

This guided walk begins at the top of the Sightseeing Gondola and requires an additional Gondola Ticket. There is an option to add a Gondola Ticket to your online order if you need one.

Note: Rates shown above do not include tax (5%GST). Pricing subject to change without notice. Dates/times are subject to change as the conditions of hiking trails are weather dependant. For the Trail of the Great Bear, there are no minimums. For all other guided walks a minimum of 3 people are required per walk, up to a maximum of 14. Due to the natural grade of the mountain trails, all participants of guided walks should be of moderate fitness ability and are encouraged to wear proper walking footwear. Please wear proper footwear and dress for all weather conditions. We recommend bringing sunglasses, water, snacks, jacket and a camera.

How to Book a Tour

Reservations are required up to 10 minutes in advance for Gondola Top hikes and at least 24 hours before Banff & Yoho National Park Tours. To make a reservation you can either book online, email us at guides@skilouise.com, or call 1-403-522-1385.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations are recommended due to limited spaces. Changes to reservations can be made based on availability. Within 24 hours of the hiking time, refunds will not be issued. There will be no refunds for extreme weather conditions or wildlife activity cancelation.
