Front Desk Attendant - posted May 22nd 2015

Reports to:                           Front Desk Supervisor and Duty Manager     

Rate of Pay:                          $11.25 / hour

Job Description:

Reporting to the Front Desk Supervisor or Duty Manager, the successful candidate must be able to perform all front desk related functions, display confidence and capability when using RoomMaster and provide exceptional customer service with each guest interaction. There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.

Job Location: The position is based at the Great Divide Lodge, which is a guest hotel, located at the summit of the famous Kicking Horse Pass in Yoho National Park. Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform check-in/check-out procedures in an efficient and timely manner
  • Provide quotes for room rates and up sell where possible
  • Make reservations and liaise with third party booking agents
  • Ensure positive guest experience through interaction & satisfaction and resolve guest issues within scope of authority
  • Regularly communicate with Front Desk Supervisor to ensure the overall success of the department
  • Respond to telephone, e-mail, and in-person inquiries from customers
  • Concierge duties as required 
  • Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations.
  • Keep an inventory of rooms reservations and room assignments
  • Verify correct room charges and collect payment
  • Assist the duty manager with the breakfast service, clearing dirty dishes, resetting tables etc.
  • Ensure all cash is balanced and accounted for at the beginning and end of each shift.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude coupled with friendly polite service
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion
  • Must be able to work night shifts
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • 1-2 years experience using the booking system RoomMaster is preferred
  • Posses a strong working knowledge of the hospitality industry
  • Cash handing experience is preferred
  • Switchboard experience an asset
  • Strong, professional phone manner

Work Schedule:

6am-4pm – 2 days/week

4pm-2am – 2 days/week

4 days on/3 days off

Dress Code:

Business Casual Attire – Black pants or skirt with dark stockings and a black long or short sleeve blouse or shirt. Neat and professional appearance is essential.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will assist the housing coordinators in creating a positive living environment for staff.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering and picking up internal and external mail at the Ski Hill and Post Office and running any additional errands
  • Deliver any messages or memos to residents
  • Opening laundry rooms at the appropriate times
  • Ensuring that all linens, uniforms and articles are washed, dried, ironed, steamed and dry cleaned in a high standard to meet both LLSR and guest expectations
  • Record damaged or improperly laundered linens, uniforms and articles
  • Report maintenance problems to the appropriate department
  • Garbage Removal, snow removal, salting and gravelling pathways as needed
  • Responsible for general cleaning and maintenance inside and outside of building.
  • Cleaning units and moving furniture when needed
  • Clean and organize housekeeping rooms and supplies
  • Maintaining storage and lost and found rooms
  • Provide assistance and or information to employees and the general public

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

Housing Coordinator - posted May 6th 2015

Position:                                Housing Coordinator

Rate of Pay:                          $12.58 / hour

Job Description:

Reporting to the Housing Manager, the ideal candidate enjoys working with people and has excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process all Housing Applications and follow up with applicants in a timely manner
  • Check in residents and review all material - explain Tenancy Agreement, provide information on site and facilities, take damage deposit payment, provide keys
  • Process payments, accurately record check in dates, transfers, and rental rates for Payroll
  • Monitor and update the Housing database on a continual basis, attention to detail is required
  • Checking emails daily, responding in a timely fashion, and forwarding emails to the appropriate individuals as required
  • Assist residents with questions and provide assistance 
  • Weekly residential inspections to ensure cleanliness and upkeep of units, record any maintenance issues
  • Effective communication with Housing Maintenance regarding any maintenance issues, prioritizing issues which must be dealt with immediately, following up to ensure maintenance has been completed
  • Daily cash balancing, data entry, processing payments for gym memberships and Wi-Fi internet purchases
  • Daily errands including driving to the ski hill to drop off cash outs, pick up supplies from the Parts department as required, drop off laundry, pick up mail, etc.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and tenant relations skills,
  • Strong ability to be impartial and professional when dealing with tenants

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ticket selling (including cash/debit/credit transactions and cash out procedures)
  • Retail selling (including cash/debit/credit transactions and cash out procedures)
  • Accommodation & Activity booking – working between customers and 3rd party vendors to book excursions and accommodations

Job Responsibilities:

  • Refuel vehicles
  • Perform minor service and maintenance such as washing the windshield, checking air pressure, and replacing parts such as windshield-wiper blades
  • Receive payment from customers & issue receipts, refunds, or change due to customers.
  • Perform minor property maintenance duties such as sweeping service station lot, scrubbing service bays and cleaning of retail space and washrooms
  • Answer customers' questions
  • Provide accurate directions where possible
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
  • Greet customers entering establishments

Reporting to the Housekeeping supervisor or duty manager, the successful candidate must be able to handle all housekeeping duties with diligence and ensure that all rooms are kept stocked, clean and tidy at all times.This position will be responsible for cleaning guest rooms, common areas and public washrooms located throughout the lodge. There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.

  • Ensure that all bedrooms, common areas and public washrooms are serviced and cleaned daily by performing general housekeeping duties including; dusting, vacuuming, changing linens and emptying garbage and recycling etc.
  • Liaise with Duty Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor, and notify them of areas in need of attention pertaining to repairs and maintenance.
  • Reporting damage, theft and articles found.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are well stocked, and storage areas are kept clean and tidy.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Mechanical Services Supervisor, the helper will assist with the day to day maintenance requirements of the department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with lift operations
  • Maintain ski lifts and snowmaking equipment

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Mechanically minded and able to work at heights
  • Must be in good physical condition and able to carry up to 70lbs
  • Ability to follow and uphold all Health and Safety Standards
  • Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Self motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm

Work Schedule:

4 days on/3 days off

7am – 5:30pm
