Job Description:

The role of the Interpretive Guide is an integral part of the summer operation at The Lake Louise Ski Resort.  Interpretive Guides are responsible for the delivery of key Parks Canada messages in an interesting and inspiring way.  It is the interpreter’s responsibility to educate visitors about the natural and cultural history of Banff National Park, with a special emphasis on the Grizzly Bear.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Educate visitors on the natural and cultural history of Banff National Park and the wildlife in this area
  • Presenting to a public audience with interpretive props at designated areas within and outside of leasehold
  • Tours and retail selling (including cash/debit/credit transactions and cash out procedures)
  • Guiding guests on themed hikes
  • Be in charge of The Wildlife Interpretive Centre operations and cleanliness
  • Driving courtesy vehicle
  • Monitor and report on wildlife activity to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors
  • Consistent delivery of customized and meaningful interpretation that exceeds guests’ expectations

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all bedrooms, common areas and public washrooms are serviced and cleaned daily by performing general housekeeping duties including; dusting, vacuuming, changing linens and emptying garbage and recycling etc.
  • Liaise with Duty Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor, and notify them of areas in need of attention pertaining to repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are well stocked, and storage areas are kept clean and tidy.
