Housekeeper - The Great Divide Lodge - posted August 2nd 2015

Rate of Pay:                          $12.50 / hour

Job Description:

Reporting to the Housekeeping supervisor or duty manager, the successful candidate must be able to handle all housekeeping duties with diligence and ensure that all rooms are kept stocked, clean and tidy at all times.This position will be responsible for cleaning guest rooms, common areas and public washrooms located throughout the lodge. There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.

Job Location:

The position is based at the Great Divide Lodge, which is a guest hotel, located at the summit of the famous Kicking Horse Pass in Yoho National Park. The 50 room hotel and hostel style accommodation overlooks the Canadian Rockies and Wapta Lake. More information regarding the Lodge can be found on our website - http://thegreatdividelodge.com/.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all bedrooms, common areas and public washrooms are serviced and cleaned daily by performing general housekeeping duties including; dusting, vacuuming, changing linens and emptying garbage and recycling etc.
  • Liaise with Duty Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor, and notify them of areas in need of attention pertaining to repairs and maintenance.
  • Reporting damage, theft and articles found.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are well stocked, and storage areas are kept clean and tidy.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude coupled with friendly polite service
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Previous housekeeping experience an asset
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion
  • Follow all LLSR policies and procedures
  • A three month probationary period applies
  • A police background check, from your home country or province, will be required upon commencement of employment

Work Schedule:

8:30am-4:30pm

5 days on / 2 days off

Dress Code:

Housekeepers will be provided with the Lake Louise polo shirts and will need to provide their own black pants or long shorts.

Job Description:

As a cook, qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and its uses. A working knowledge of stocks, sauces, butchering & standard cooking techniques such as grilling, frying, sautéing, poaching, smoking and any other cooking medium needed to execute all types of cuisine. A general knowledge of all ingredients to be utilized in their area of work and knowledge of all health and sanitation practices. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures all food is prepared on clean surfaces (and with clean utensils). Ensure at all time their stations are clean and kept to department standards.
  • Ensures food quality and presentation meets LLSR Culinary Department standards prior to being served. Station responsibilities must be monitored at all times.
  • Remains appropriately groomed and must wear the uniform provided.  Must maintain a clean uniform and work station – both guest side and employee station area.
  • Ensures all items prepared on their work station are presented in accordance with departmental specifications.
  • Receive and put away any and all product on delivery.
  • Maintains a kitchen work space that must be clean, tidy, well organized, and ready at all times during service.

Job Description:

The successful candidate is required to work mainly unsupervised on established resort projects and assist with the maintenance and repairs to the internal and external structure of the staff residence buildings and resort lodges. The successful candidate must possess mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material estimates. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the renovation and refurbishment of different locations
  • To assist in preventative maintenance and all recording systems
  • To observe and report any potential safety hazards
  • To maintain work area in safe, clean and orderly fashion
  • To follow safety procedures and standards

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the sale of fuel and other automotive products, as well as all in-store merchandise.During the winter months this position is also responsible for ensuring safe access for vehicles and pedestrians and at times can include a lot of snow removal dependant on weather. There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.

  • Refuel vehicles
  • Perform minor service and maintenance such as washing the windshield, checking air pressure, and replacing parts such as windshield-wiper blades
  • Receive payment from customers & issue receipts, refunds, or change due to customers.
  • Perform minor property maintenance duties such as sweeping service station lot, scrubbing service bays and cleaning of retail space and washrooms

Job Description:

The role of a Buffet Attendant/Slopeside Cafe Attendant is an integral part of the overall success of the Food & Beverage Department here at The Lake Louise Ski Resort.  The Buffet Attendant provides guests with exceptional customer service and possesses a strong working knowledge of all buffet menu items. The buffet attendant shall perform all required duties in a friendly and professional manner, and ensure that each guest has an enjoyable dining experience. Other responsibilities will include removing used dishes, assisting with cleaning duties, and barista duties as required. It is the responsibility of the barista on duty to prepare quality coffees and other beverages quickly and accurately.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the buffet is constantly monitored and maintained
  • Cash handling
  • Maintain and stock product to established par levels

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere in all Lake Louise Ski Resort properties including the resort and staff accommodation. Candidate would be considered for winter employment, upon successful completion of summer contract.

Job Responsibilities:

  • This position consists of night shifts commencing at 5:30pm daily
  • Conducting security patrols of Lake Louise Ski Resort properties
  • Enforce “conditions of residence” as outlined in rental contracts
  • Liaison with local law enforcement and emergency service agencies
  • Respond to complaints and conduct investigations
  • Provide assistance and or information to employees and the general public
  • Complete the required nightly security incident reports

Job Description:

The role of the interpreter is an integral part of the summer operation at The Lake Louise Ski Resort.  Interpretive Guides are responsible for the delivery of key Parks Canada messages in an interesting and inspiring way.  It is the interpreter’s responsibility to educate visitors about the natural and cultural history of Banff National Park, with a special emphasis on the grizzly bear.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Continued commitment to high standards of service, exceeding Customer expectations
  • Deliver scripted presentations to groups of varying size, age and nationality.
  • Guide themed hikes of 45 minutes and 2 hours.
  • Roving interpretation
  • Deliver key messages through meaningful, enthusiastic and enjoyable interpretation.
  • Greet and answer visitors’ questions, and assist them as required.
  • Monitor wildlife activity to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
