Group Sales Coordinator - posted March 31st 2014

The Lake Louise Ski Resort is looking to fill the summer seasonal position of

Summer Group Sales Coordinator

Reporting to the Director of Sales, this position is responsible for incoming group sales inquiries, overseeing group events and the development of new business with tour operators and corporate accounts, during the summer season.  There are also responsibilities specifically related to the summer and winter operations. 

Employment PeriodMay 9th – Sept 30th, 2014

This position may open up into a year round position.

Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare quotes and contract agreements for group inquiries including tour operators, corporate groups and individual events.
  • Co-ordinate onsite functions during regular operating hours and evening events. 
  • Conduct site inspections, familiarization tours and provide information on other local services that may be helpful to the client.
  • Greet groups upon arrival and deliver orientation presentations to guests (summer)
  • Prepare summer tickets for Groups, and oversee day end reports, weekly summaries.
  • Assist with overall operation and perform operational duties as may be required.
  • Liaison with Calgary office for groups.
  • Prepare all group details and coordinate with all departments.
  • Experience with event management or conference services an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.
  • Ability to listen, ask questions, adapt information and address problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Must be organized, responsible and flexible to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be friendly, outgoing and enjoy meeting new people.
  • Excellent computer skills with working experience on Word and Excel

The following will be considered an asset, although individuals without the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

  • Experience working with groups, senior organizations, and youth groups etc.
  • Experience working in event management, conference services or food & beverage
  • Fluency or working knowledge of other languages
  • Current drivers license (Canadian or International)
  • Previous sales experience or supervisory experience in a customer service oriented position.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for travelling to the other “hot spots” around the Lake Louise area while promoting the Lake Louise Gondola.  Person must be responsible, self sufficient, friendly and easily approachable. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Promote all summer operations at The Lake Louise Gondola
  • Approach groups of people at different spots around Lake Louise and promote the Lake Louie Gondola.  Let them know of the many opportunities and programs we have going on, offer coupons, hand out brochures and answer questions 
  • Represent The Lake Louise Gondola/Ski Resort and provide public relations in an outgoing, enthusiastic and professional manner
  • Knowledgeable of the services and events of the area to promote the services of The Lake Louise Gondola operation
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance of company vehicle
  • Be knowledgeable with computers
  • Help the Sales and Marketing department with other projects as needed

Job Requirements:             

  • Neat, clean, professional presentation/appearance
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills
  • Time management and organizational ability
  • Must enjoy extensive travel and be comfortable with a flexible work schedule
  • A current drivers licence, and clean driving record 
  • Self-motivated and responsible to work with minimal or no supervision
  • Must be physically capable of lifting/carrying 50 lbs

Qualifications:

The following will be considered an asset, although individuals without the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

  • Previous professional driving experience
  • Class 4 drivers licence is preferred
  • Experience in sales or retail
  • Familiar with the layout of Lake Louise

• 4 days on / 3 days off

• Hours vary according to travel schedule (range between 7-12 hours daily)

Dress Code:

Uniform shirt provided at a cost, following appearance standards

Compensation:

Starting wage - $9.95 per hour + commission

The Lake Louise Ski Resort is looking to fill the fulltime seasonal position of

 Security Officer

 Reporting to the Security Supervisor and Housing Manager,the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure atmosphere in all Lake Louise Ski Resort properties including the resort and staff accommodation. There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.

Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • This position consists of night shifts commencing at 5:30pm daily
  • Conducting security patrols of Lake Louise Ski Resort properties
  • Enforce “conditions of residence” as outlined in rental contracts
  • Liaison with local law enforcement and emergency service agencies
  • Respond to complaints and conduct investigations
  • Provide assistance and or information to employees and the general public
  • Complete the required nightly security incident reports
  • All other related duties as required by the Security Supervisoror Management
  • Canadian or International driver’s license & clean driving abstract/record.
  • Prior security/law enforcement experience
  • Ability to enforce rules, without being influenced by friends/work colleagues.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • First aid, CPR, self defense and mediation skills preferred

 Reporting to the Paint Crew Supervisor, this Summer positionis integral to the success of the Operations Department and the resort as a whole. The goal of this position is to assist with Summer painting projects, resort maintenance and general labor as assigned.

 Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  •  Indoor and outdoor painting projects
  • Clean and perform preparation of work-site
  • Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor
  • Painting, sanding, patching, staining & chinking
  • Previous commercial painting experience is desirable
  • Must enjoy working outdoors in all weather and have the ability to work at heights
  • Must be self-motivated

The Great Divide Lodge – Gas Station Attendant

Reporting to the Duty Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the sale of fuel and other automotive products, as well as all in-store merchandise.There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.

 

 Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Refuel vehicles
  • Perform minor service and maintenance such as washing the windshield, checking air pressure, and replacing parts such as windshield-wiper blades
  • Receive payment from customers & issue receipts, refunds, or change due to customers.
  • Perform minor property maintenance duties such as sweeping service station lot, scrubbing service bays and cleaning of retail space and washrooms
  •  Answer customers' questions
  • Provide accurate directions where possible
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
  • Greet customers entering establishments 
  • Resolve customer complaints
  • Stock shelves, and mark prices on shelves and items.
  • Change fuel prices on signage
  • Customer service and/or retail experience preferred

Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure that all bedrooms and public rooms are serviced and cleaned daily by performing general housekeeping duties including; dusting, vacuuming, changing linens and emptying garbage and recycling etc.
  • Liaise with Duty Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor, and notify them of areas in need of attention pertaining to repairs and maintenance.
  • Reporting damage, theft and articles found.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are well stocked, and storage areas are kept clean and tidy.

The Summer shuttle driver is responsible for transporting both guests and staff from the village and hotels of Lake Louise to the ski hill in the company’s 21-seater bus.
