Lake Louise Welcomes Evolve SSX Club

Evolve SSX - Skier Snowboarder Cross ClubOctober 18, 2010 - The Lake Louise Ski Area and the newly formed Evolve SSX (Ski & Snowboard Cross) Club have partnered together to offer a club and a venue for ski and snowboard athletes who like to go fast, and who are into more than just racing.  Evolve will work with The Lake Louise Ski Area to construct a skier/boarder cross track in January following the World Cup alpine events.

Evolve is something new, a kind of super club, with skiers and snowboarders combined.  It’s a combination of the Alberta Free Skiers, Rocky Mountain Military and Sunshine Snowboard.  Club members will be able to train and take part in optional competitions, ski & snowboard cross, Junior Big Mountain Challenge and freestyle events.

Evolve SSX Club will offer

  • Exclusive training opportunities on The Lake Louise Ski Area snowcross track on Sunday mornings and two weekday mornings
  •  A complete range of snowboard opportunities from Junior to All Mountain Freestyle to National Level Performance SBX programs
  • Ski opportunities from All Mountain Free Skiing to All Mountain with SX Focus to SX Training at several levels of focus
  • Snowcross programs for Masters

The Club is committed to the idea that sports are meant to be fun and part of the long term development of the athlete as a whole person.

Variety is the spice of life for some, while competitive excellence is the goal of others. With the excellent facility offered by The Lake Louise Ski Area, we offer both and more.

Programs include COP training opportunities and away trips to free ride and compete.

Evolve and The Lake Louise Ski Area will offer excellent training opportunities, fun and a series of great grass roots to high performance competitive opportunities for ski and snowboard athletes through the 2010-11 winter season, and hope to continue on with a strong partnership in future years.

Evolve is pleased to have contracted the services of two excellent Program Directors / Head Coaches.
