2nd Epic Season in a Row Predicted!

Epic snow year! The Lake Louise Ski Area is excited to announce November 5th is the scheduled opening day for what is predicted to be another epic season. Forecasters expect La Nina to bring well above average snowfalls to Lake Louise this year.

The Rockies’ Biggest, Canada’s Best is celebrating with a Season Pass Sale! Up to 15% savings for all 2011/2012 Seasons Passes until October 15th!

“We are focusing on the areas our Alberta Season Pass and Louise Card holders tell us matter the most this winter,” says President Charlie Locke. “This includes: better grooming,  a bigger, better terrain park, a snow cross course , and a season long line-up of exciting events, beginning with the World Cup Winter Start and culminating with a spring festival. We are committed to offering more value and more family-friendly, enjoyable and convenient experiences both on snow and off.”

Because of its huge size, Lake Louise has far more acres of natural snow than any other ski resort in Alberta due to its impressive back bowls, extensive upper mountain runs, and the groomed cruising in the Larch area. This season, upgrades to one of the largest, most sophisticated grooming and snowmaking systems in the world will help ensure supreme snow from November to May.

All 2011/2012 pass holders will now benefit from season-long discounts on heli skiing, cat skiing, lift tickets at other ski resorts, Lake Louise & Banff hotels and in most LLSA venues such as the ski school, sports boutique, rental and repair shops and restaurants. Other benefits are a free Wi-Fi coupon, $20.00 discounts on two single day tickets for friends, and more.

Enhanced ski school programs (with online registration) and rentals options (including high-performance snowboards, cross country and ski touring packages) are new, as is the Challenge Max tuning machine, the only one of its kind between Whistler and Ontario. This computerized machinedelivers perfect tunes on every type of ski and snowboard, every time, in less time it takes for a short coffee break.

New this year too (in limited quantity), is the Parents’ Share Pass. Moms and dads can use the same season pass and trade-off skiing and looking after the kids in a reserved spot in Whiskey Jack Lodge.  Lake Louise’s on-site acclaimed accredited daycare welcomes babies as young as 18 days old.

Fun for the whole family continues with the new Winter Gondola Sightseeing and Snowshoe Adventure Tours.  Have your friends or guests who do not ski ride the Grizzly Express Gondola to the top of Whitehorn Mountain and  take in the views that consistently inspire ski magazines to rate Lake Louise as the most scenic ski area in the world. The popular Ski Friends are also back, but with free Heritage Tours now as well – these educational tours will showcase the unique and rich history and ecosystems of the area while you ski around the mountain with local area experts.

The newly renovated Great Divide Lodge is already earning rave reviews! The revamped and re-invented West Louise Lodge sits on beautiful Wapta Lake only 15 minutes from Lake Louise with a licensed restaurant, bar, free ski shuttle, complimentary parking, and wireless internet access. Rooms start at only $89 per night!

Bookings are also still available at historic Skoki Lodge, where the Royal couple spent their day off during their Canadian tour. Skoki is the spot for that perfect winter getaway.

Most exciting is the Trans-Canada Highway twinning is now fully complete! Commuters have always appreciated the short access road to the ski area and the convenient parking just off the full-service Base Lodges and mere steps to the lifts. Now skiers and riders can be on the peaks that much sooner at Lake Louise!
