November 17, 2013, BANFF NATIONAL PARK - The Lake Louise Ski Resort has won the prestigious accolade of Best Ski Resort in Canada at the first ever World Ski Awards. These awards are part of the World Travel Awards, dubbed as "the Oscars of the Travel Industry,"and were established to acknowledge leading ski resorts that show determination and commitment to excellence in ski tourism.
The 2013 World Ski Awards Gala Ceremony was held in Kitzbühel, Austria November 16th. In addition to winning Canada's top resort, Lake Louise qualified in the top-three for Best Overall Ski Resort in the World, with Deer Valley and Val Thorens, which took top honour in that category.

The award was not selected, but earned, by receiving the most votes cast by leading ski tourism professionals and luxury travel customers.
