Lake Louise Offers-Up North America’s Longest Vertical

Lake Louise on November 11, 2012Calgary, Alberta - Thanks to amazing early-season conditions at the Lake Louise Ski Area, more vertical is open here right now than anywhere else in North America: 3250 feet (991 m). Glacier Express, Top of the World and Summit Platter are all running, and a limited rail park is set up on Easy Street. Paradise Chairlift is expected to open soon.

“Winter is off to an impressive start – it’s been snowing a ton and our teams have been hard at work ensuring the best possible early season conditions,” says Proprietor Charlie Locke.

Lift tickets are available at discounted rates until more mountain opens up, and during this time there are further $5 savings for Louise Plus Card holders who choose to save their first free day.

What’s New for 2012/13?

  • A completely-revamped beginners’ area and fun zone. All ages will love the new, user-friendly surface carpet system that will make learning easier and more fun.  Later this season, we’ll introduce a Tube Park, a Bouncy Castle for the little ones and a Bag Jump for the freestylers in the family.
  • New cats and snowmaking enhancements will mean conditions can be outstanding from early November to May, even if Mother Nature ends up needing a little help.
  • Bigger and better events, festivals and competitions all season long, starting with the Lake Louise World Cup Winterstart November 24th to December 2nd.
  • Lake Louise Seasons Pass and Louise Plus Card holders enjoy unprecedented savings at ski resorts, hotels, restaurants, retail outlets, Cat and Heli-Skiing operations and more.

“We're excited about all of the improvements we’ve made that will enhance guests’ experiences both on and off the mountain this season and we couldn’t be more pleased that winter has launched,” says Locke.
