Lake Louise Ski Area Will Open Saturday, November 8, 2008


Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our talented snowmaking crew, the Lake Louise Ski Area is pleased to announce that it will open for the season on Saturday, November 8.

Skiers and boarders will be able to experience their first turns of the season down the Wiwaxy run, which offers a vertical drop of 1,450 feet.

The Glacier Express high-speed quad chair will be in operation, as will food and beverage outlets, rentals, ski school, and daycare.

Reduced lift ticket rates will be effect. The adult ticket will be $38, seniors and youths $26.40, and children under 12, $12.50.

All Louise Card holders will be able to ski or ride for a special $25 rate until November 21st and do not have to use their first day free should they decide to use it at a later date when prices are at regular rates.

"Considering the record breaking high temperatures we’ve experienced throughout October, we are extremely pumped that we’ve made enough snow to start the season on schedule," confirms Lake Louise marketing director John Ross.

The first lift up is scheduled to start at 9 am and will run until 4 pm. will remain open daily until the end of the season.

The new Calgary-Lake Louise ski bus will also begin operation this weekend with three convenient Calgary pickup points. Reservations can be made by calling 403-477-0999.
