Powder in Paradise – Keeping it Safe

With 25 cms of new snow falling last Saturday and Saturday night, the Lake Louise ski patrol began immediate avalanche control procedures first thing Sunday morning to ensure the safety of our customers. Paradise Bowl, which is one of the most popular locations at the ski area, was one of the first to receive attention from avalanche crews. Once the avalanche prevention work was completed, skiers and riders were treated to spectacular powder conditions.

For an on-going behind the scenes look at avalanche control and mountain conditions at Lake Louise, please visit The Lake Louise Lowdown (http://lakelouiselowdown.wordpress.com). This informative and frequently updated website is the project of our own Chris Moseley, a senior ski patroller and avalanche forecaster, who is also a talented writer, photographer, and videographer.
