Basecamp Ski and Snowboard Programs

4 week Level 1 with Job Opportunity

The 4 Week Level 1 gives those looking to become an instructor in the same season the perfect opportunity to achieve their goals. This course is ideal for those looking for an introduction to the instructor industry.

With the course starting at the beginning of the season it means you will qualify in time for the Lake Louise Ski School’s ‘annual draft’ of ski and snowboard instructors.

What to expect:

  • • Highest Qualified and Best Instructors in Canada.
  • • Guaranteed Job Interview.
  • • Work as an Instructor in the Same Season.
  • • Central Accommodation (all twin share in double beds).
  • • Fantastic Food Options - All you can eat breakfast 7 days a week and dinner 5 nights a week.
  • • Group welcome meal awaits following arriving in Banff.
  • • End of course party.
  • • Level 1 Exam.

On the Mountain:

  • • An introduction to CSIA / CASI skiing / snowboarding and teaching methodology.
  • • Techniques and strategies for effective assessment and development.

Employment Opportunities:

Each Basecamper has a guaranteed job interview with the Lake Louise Ski School. Successful interviewees will be offered season long instructor jobs at the ski school. 

Ultimate Instructor Course - Gain five qualifications in 11 weeks!

The 11 Week Ultimate Instructor Course allows participants to gain 5 qualifications: CSIA / CASI Level 1 and 2, AST Level 1 (Avalanche), First Aid and CFSA Level 1 (Canadian Freestyle Ski Association). This course is ideal for those looking to begin a career as an instructor.

This is quite simply the most inclusive Instructor course out there! Not only is the on snow course extremely inclusive, but off the mountain you also get 600 activity credits, which can be used on a whole host of extra activities!

Course Features:

  • • 5 Qualifications in 1 Season: CSIA / CASI Level 1 and 2, AST Level 1, First Aid, CFSA Level 1.
  • • Highest Qualified and Best Instructors in Canada.
  • • Guaranteed Job Interview.
  • • Central Twin Share Hotel Accommodation (all twin share, in double beds in the Ptarmigan Inn Hotel).
  • • 600 Extra Activity Credits.

On the Mountain:

  • The training is based on the common principle of:
  • • 20 Hours Coaching a Week.
  • • 8 - 1 Group training.
  • • 1-1 Coaching.
  • • Piste Performance Coaching.
  • • Teaching Theory Coaching.
  • • Exam Preparation.

Employment Opportunities:

Each Basecamper is guaranteed a job interview with the Lake Louise Ski School with the possibility to return the following season and work as a Level 2 Qualified Instructor.

Extra Activities:

Each Basecamper has access to 600 activity credits throughout the course. Each extra activity has a credit value allowing Basecampers to pick and choose their extras up to a value of 600. Activities include cat skiing, snow mobiling, Calgary Ice hockey trip, ice skating and more.


EA Ski & Snowboard Training

Basecamp Ski and Snowboard ProgramsEA Ski and Snowboard has been working with Lake Louise since 2009. It is a partnership that provides the perfect base to gain your career defining qualification, with superior terrain and instruction to take your skiing or riding the next level.

EA Ski and Snowboard offer two types of instructor courses at Lake Louise. Instructor Internship Programs and 11 week Instructor Courses. All EA Programs include pre departure support to get you sorted with visas, insurance and flights. There are also orientations and EA staff to meet you on arrival to ensure you get settled in easily.

Instructor Internship Program

In conjunction with EA Ski & Snowboard we offer limited places for those with no certification to become an Instructor in the Lake Louie Snow School. Here’s a quick rundown:

  • • Arrive late November for an early season training module with top trainers
  • • Accommodation is included during this time.
  • • Full support, transfers and social events.
  • • Resort employee season pass.
  • • Sit the level 1 CSIA/CASI instructor exam.
  • • Assistance finding accommodation for the season.
  • • Start work as an instructor in time for the busy Christmas period.
  • • Options for further training and certifications towards your level 2 certification as well as park & pipe, avalanche & first aid!

Places are limited on this program. You should be an enthusiastic team player, at least an intermediate skier or snowboarder, and able to commit to the full season of work.

11 Week Instructor Training Course

These ski and snowboard courses provide all the essential ingredients. Your skiing or riding will take a huge step up and you will have the best opportunity to get your level 2 instructor certificate. Courses include:

  • • Arrive late November for an early season training module with top trainers.
  • • Shared Accommodation.
  • • Level One Coaching.
  • • All Terrain Personal Development.
  • • On Snow Analysis including Technical & Theory Sessions.
  • • CASI or CSIA Membership, Course Materials and Exam.
  • • Resort Lift Pass.
  • • Mountain Transfers.
  • • Social Events.
  • • Park and Freeride Training.
  • • Avalanche Safety Course.
  • • First Aid Course.
  • • Level Two Coaching.

In addition to full training with the Lake Louise Snow School, packages include accommodation, lift passes, CSIA and CASI exam fees, social events, support from staff and options for further training and certifications towards your level 2 certification as well as park & pipe, avalanche & first aid!
