Food & Beverage Cashier
The role of a General Cashier/Slopeside Attendant is an integral part of the overall success of the Food & Beverage Department here at The Lake Louise Ski Area. The successful candidate will be assisting in the operation of a high volume establishment catering to an international clientele of avid recreationalists.
There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.
Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Strong guest service & interpersonal abilities
- Cash handling
- Punctuality and reliability is essential
- Maintain and stock product to established par levels
- Ensure cleanliness & maintenance of all lodge areas at all times including restrooms
- Table maintenance
- Barista duties as required
- Knowledge and adherence of ALGC legislation
- Self motivated, can work well in a team as well as independently
- Ensure quality of product & services offered at all times
- Must enjoy the outdoors & mountain environment
- Some positions require skiing/snowboarding ability and equipment
- Possess strong communication & interpersonal skills

| RENTAL SHOP TECHNICIAN - FEBRuary 8, 2010 |
The Lake Louise Ski Area is looking to fill the fulltime seasonal position of :
Rental Shop Technician
Reporting to the Rental Shop Supervisor & Retail/Rental Manager, the duty of the Rental Shop Technician is that of accommodating the needs of our customers in serving them with the ski/snowboard rental equipment that they require. While performing this task the employee must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Assist the customer in completing the rental contract
- Assist the customer in choosing and fitting equipment
- Become a certified binding technician
- Become familiar with rental shop cash procedure
- Strictly follow rental shop procedure guidelines
- Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times
- Self motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
- Computer literate with proficiency using basic programs such as Windows and Outlook
- Answer questions regarding The Lake Louise Ski area
- Assist with daily rental returns
- Provide feedback to supervisors regarding customers needs
- Assist with daily maintenance and cleaning duties
- Cash handling experience
- Ability to smile and have fun while accomplishing all required tasks

| HOUSING - HOUSE PERSON - january 24, 2010 |
The Lake Louise Ski Area is looking to fill the fulltime seasonal position of :
Housing - House person
Reporting to the Housing Manager, the successful candidate will assist the housing coordinators in creating a positive living environment for staff.
There is an opportunity to continue employment for the summer and following 2010-2011 winter season if successful.
Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering and picking up internal and external mail at the Ski Hill and Post Office and running any additional errands
- Deliver any messages or memos to residents
- Opening laundry rooms at the appropriate times
- Report maintenance problems to the appropriate department
- Garbage Removal, snow removal, salting and gravelling pathways as needed
- Responsible for general cleaning inside and outside of building. Vacuuming hallways and main lobby and mopping basement floors and removing any litter you see outside and inside building
- Cleaning units and moving furniture when needed
- Clean and organize housekeeping rooms and supplies
- Maintaining storage and lost and found rooms
- Provide assistance and or information to employees and the general public
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s licence (or international equivalent) with clean driving record (abstract/traffic history report must be provided before commencement of employment)
- International driving licence (obtained before arrival in Canada)
- Follow all LLSA policies and procedures
- Adhere to LLSA Grooming policy at all times
- Complete other tasks as assigned

| SECURITY OFFICER- january 24, 2010 |
The Lake Louise Ski Area is looking to fill the fulltime seasonal position of :
Security Officer
Reporting to: The Security Supervisor and Housing Manager.
Objective: To maintain a safe and secure atmosphere in all Lake Louise Ski Area properties including the resort and staff accommodation.
Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- This position consists of night shifts commencing at 6pm daily
- Conducting security patrols of Lake Louise Ski Area properties
- Enforce “conditions of residence” as outlined in rental contracts
- Liaison with local law enforcement and emergency service agencies
- Respond to complaints and conduct investigations
- Provide assistance and or information to employees and the general public
- Complete the required nightly security incident reports
- All other related duties as required by the Security Supervisor or Management
- Canadian or International driver’s license & clean driving abstract/record.
- Prior security/law enforcement experience
- Ability to enforce rules, without being influenced by friends/work colleagues.
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- First aid, CPR, self defense and mediation skills preferred
- Follow all LLSA policies and procedures
- Adhere to LLSA grooming policy at all times
- Complete other tasks as assigned

| HOUSING MAINTENANCE - JANUARY 4, 2010 |
The Lake Louise Ski Area is looking to fill the fulltime seasonal position of :
Housing Maintenance
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and Housing Manager; This is a hands-on, "jack-of-all-trades" position. The ideal candidate must possess strong building trade skills in order to perform highly diversified maintenance duties.
There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.
Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Regular & unscheduled inspections and maintenance of all staff buildings & utilities
- Participate in maintaining a high standard of safety
- Follow up and complete work orders and projects
- Accurate record keeping of regular inspections, maintenance, and projects
- Work closely with Building Maintenance, Operations and facility operators, and in cooperation with all departments
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance, painting, drywall and carpentry functions.
- Prepare, paint and decorate interior and exterior surfaces as required.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain various electrical components, appliances and equipment in accordance with pertinent codes, the preventative maintenance program and departmental procedures.
- Troubleshoot, install, and repair plumbing fixtures, piping, and related equipment.
- Perform necessary work to open clogged sewer lines.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing
- Liaise with Maintenance Supervisor on the progress of work orders.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's license (or international equivalent) with clean driving record (abstract/traffic history report must be provided before commencement of employment)
- Appearance must adhere to LLSA grooming policy
- Follow all LLSA policies and procedures
- Complete other tasks as assigned
- MUST posses strong building trade skills
- Must be a 3rd year Apprentice Carpenter with Certificate of Apprenticeship or a Journeyman Carpenter
- Positive attitude and a team player, good physical condition
- Attention to detail, strong initiative
