Doug Meyers Memorial Cup
Ski clubs from all over Southern Alberta participate in Lake Louise Ski Club’s annual Doug Meyers race.
Although the format changes each year, the event has typically involved two races held over the weekend. One race is specifically set for athletes registered in E2 programs that ski 50+ days per season (e.g., Lake Louise KD program), and the other race is specifically set for E1 programs that ski approximately 20 days per season (e.g., Lake Louise Nancy Greene 21-day program). The format may vary, but generally Saturday has been for individual results, and Sunday is the team event (dual challenge) where athletes are paired with children from other clubs based on Saturday’s results.
The race is an opportunity to celebrate the memory of Doug and showcase our club as a leader in sportsmanship, fun and fair play and the spirit Doug and his family have nurtured throughout the years within the Lake Louise Ski Club
