Photographing the Spring Landscape Course
Join National Geographic Traveler award winning photographer Mark Unrau for a 6 hour workshop at The Lake Louise Ski Area Area to learn how to capture the drama of the spring landscape.
The mountain landscape in spring is often challenging to capture its beauty because of high contrast scenes and lack of punchy colours. Mark will guide you through techniques to help improve your photography in these situations. We will focus on how to make powerful spring landscapes through similar techniques used by Ansel Adams to capture powerful black and white images. We will learn how to interpret the natural light and the best compositional techniques to add drama. We will also touch on powerful post production techniques used to maximize detail and tonal range throughout the image.
The day course begins with in-class instruction on the fundamentals followed by a delicious lunch. We will then take the Gondola to the top of the mountain to photograph the powerful vistas of the Lake Louise area and have a chance to use the new skills learned in class. Afterwards we will head back to the lodge and learn post production techniques as well as take time to critique images that was captured on top or photos brought from home!
Total time of the workshop is scheduled for 6 hours which includes lunch, the Gondola ticket, in-class instruction and critique by Mark Unrau.
