Powder 8s - Canadian Championships
February 25
The Lake Louise Ski Area will be hosting Canada’s top powder skiers where timing, style and technical ability are combined to form this unique team event in powder snow. Teams of two carve their way down Lake Louise’s steeps creating 8s in the untracked powder.
Never competed in a Powder 8 event before? The concept is simple; teams of two carve their way down Lake Louise’s steeps creating 8s in the untracked powder. The competition is judged on synchronization, dynamic/aggressive skiing and distance between team members. The tracks are judged on roundness, symmetry and fall line.
Be prepared to hike!

Once you are out at the event venue, it is not easy to get back to the lodge for a warm-up or snack. It is highly recommended that you bring a backpack with everything that you need for the day. All competitors will be required to wear a beacon. Lake Louise Ski Area will loan beacons to those who do not own one.
