Q107 Mountain Takeover with Pistol Noon

Spring is here and it is time to gear up and head out to The Lake Louise Ski Area for our Q107 Mountain Takeover.  Grab your skis and boards and hit the slopes to ride the Rockies Biggest, Canada’s Best.  Head to the Kokanee Kabin to listen to some live music, head backside to Temple BBQ where you can get served a burger by your favourite Q107 DJs, or hit your favourite runs during the amazing spring conditions.  Spring is here and it is time to enjoy these last few weeks we have! 

The Coke Stage @ the Kokanee Kabin will be blasting some amazing tunes from Pistol Noon during the day on Saturday and Sunday.  Check out their live performance at 12:30pm - 2:00pm & 3:30pm - 5:00pm. Cost is FREE! Pistol Noon is a three man band from Calgary Alberta, there genre is classic rock, country rock & blues. For more information check out http://www.myspace.com/pistolnoon.

Q107 will be broadcasting live from the Whiskeyjack Cafeteria from 12:00pm - 6:00pm! 

With a green run down from every chair lift, even the most beginner riders can make their way backside to Temple Lodge.  Meet your favourite Q107 DJs; Zenon West, Dale Einerson, Lucas Gilbertson, Robyn Phillips, Alex Mykyta and Tim Spence, as they cook your burgers to perfection from 11:30am until 2:30pm, at Temple BBQ.  Sit and enjoy the sun in Temple Beach while Q107 plays live.  All ages welcome.

Cardboard Box Downhill Derby

April 13

Get creative with cardboard for the annual Cardboard Box Downhill Derby.  Using only cardboard, string, tape and glue, prove your cardboard carpentry by building the fastest sled in town! 

Prizes will be given for top three times and the best three designs. Get your teams of 1-4 people together and challenge your neighbours and friends. Out-design, out-wit and out-sled your creation.

Helmets Mandatory.

Sleds must be constructed of only cardboard, tape, glue and string.

Maximum of 4 people per team.

Doug Meyers Memorial Cup (9th annual)

April 13 - 14

Doug Meyers Memorial Race

Ski clubs from all over Southern Alberta participate in Lake Louise Ski Club’s annual Doug Meyers race. The event includes two races held over the weekend. One race is specifically set for athletes registered in E2 programs that ski 50+ days per season (e.g., Lake Louise KD program), and the other race is specifically set for E1 programs that ski approximately 20 days per season (e.g., Lake Louise Nancy Greene 21-day program).  The race is an opportunity to celebrate the memory of Doug and showcase our club as a leader in sportsmanship, fun and fair play and the spirit Doug and his family have nurtured throughout the years within the Lake Louise Ski Club.
 
Douglas G. Meyers 1972-2003
 
Doug Meyers had a long-standing relationship with the Lake Louise Ski Area.  It began in 1985 when he skied competitively with the Lake Louise Ski Club, placing in the top 15 of the Canadian Juvenile Finals. It continued from 1990-1997 with coaching, and later as head coach, with the Nancy Greene Ski program. Doug died of an aggressive form of brain cancer on April 10, 2003 at 30 years of age.  He left behind a legacy of love, acceptance for all and enthusiasm for life.

Torchlight Dinner & Ski EventThe Torchlight Dinner & Ski events are the ultimate way for your group to wrap up a wonderful day on the slopes, or the perfect escape to the mountains after a work week. 

Experience the mountain from a whole new perspective as your group has the unique opportunity to explore the hill after hours. The excitement begins at our mid mountain lodge, Whitehorn Lodge, where you will enjoy après drinks, appetizers and live music in a majestic setting.

Following après, you will enjoy first tracks down a freshly groomed run with our professional staff as your escorts. Head to the Sitzmark Lounge where a smorgasbord of food and entertainment awaits you. To make the most of your experience, why not take advantage of our optional bus service back to your Lake Louise or Banff Hotel.

The Women's Snowboard Federation is hosting 2 weekends of park specific snowboard camp for girls. Designed for all ages from beginner to advanced park riders. Separate groups for separate ability levels, Canada's top female coaches and gifts from Roxy!

The camp runs Saturdays and Sundays from April 13th-April 21st, 2013.

Girls can sign up for 2 days or 4 days of camp.

Felix Enrique Calderon – born El Salvador, raised and lives in Calgary Alberta Canada. After his first band, “The Hansdome Devils”, Hurricane Felix and the Southern Twisters kicked into the cow town music scene in 2002. Along the way he picked up “Mad Maddy” Double bass and started slappin’ to influences such as Johnny Burnette, Charlie Feathers, Bill Browning, Johnny Carol and more. When you hear the Rockabilly, honky tonk blues, it adds up to Hurricane Felix & The Southern Twisters!
