Job Description:

The role of the interpreter is an integral part of the summer operation at The Lake Louise Ski Resort.  Interpretive Guides are responsible for the delivery of key Parks Canada messages in an interesting and inspiring way.  It is the interpreter’s responsibility to educate visitors about the natural and cultural history of Banff National Park, with a special emphasis on the grizzly bear.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Continued commitment to high standards of service, exceeding Customer expectations
  • Deliver scripted presentations to groups of varying size, age and nationality
  • Guide themed hikes of 45 minutes and 2 hours
  • Roving interpretation
  • Deliver key messages through meaningful, enthusiastic and enjoyable interpretation
  • Greet and answer visitors’ questions, and assist them as required
  • Monitor wildlife activity to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Previous interpretive guiding experience is preferred
  • Fluency or working knowledge of other languages is considered an asset.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • General labor duties using a variety of basic hand tools such as picks, shovels, rakes, axe etc
  • Ensure work trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored
  • Work with the ski resort staff to maintain and improve relations with the community, Parks Canada, environmental groups and the public.  

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license (or international equivalent) with clean driving record (abstract/traffic history report must be provided before commencement of employment)
  • Minimum high school graduation; post secondary education would be an asset.

  • Inspect and monitor a variety of projects for regulatory compliance and compliance with LLSR’s best management practices. 
  • Provide technical expertise and support on all matters relating to departmental operations.
  • Support outside consultants in a variety of research studies as required.
  • Where capable, provide onsite training and inspection of related ski hill projects
  • Where necessary, revise departmental policies, procedures, and training to better serve inter-departmental needs.
  • Prepare and/or monitor environmental assessments.

Job Description:

The main role of our janitorial staff is to ensure the safe and effective sanitation of the base lodge areas and facilities. Janitorial duties will include but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, garbage disposal and cleaning of washrooms. The janitor will be responsible for ensuring that all required tasks are completed thoroughly, on time, and with minimal supervision. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all common areas, public spaces and washrooms were serviced and cleaned daily by performing general janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, correctly sanitizing benches and countertops and garbage disposal.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms including toilets, sinks mirrors and floors
  • Replenish toilet tissue and soap as needed
  • Remove trash and recycling

Job Description:

The successful candidate must be able to handle all housekeeping duties with diligence and ensure that all rooms are kept stocked, clean and tidy at all times.This position will be responsible for cleaning guest rooms, common areas and public washrooms located throughout the lodge. There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.

Job Location: The position is based at the Great Divide Lodge, which is a guest hotel, located at the summit of the famous Kicking Horse Pass in Yoho National Park. Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all bedrooms, common areas and public washrooms are serviced and cleaned daily by performing general housekeeping duties including; dusting, vacuuming, changing linens and emptying garbage and recycling etc.
  • Liaise with Duty Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor, and notify them of areas in need of attention pertaining to repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are well stocked, and storage areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Ensures additional cleaning programs are undertaken as directed and to the performance standards required.
  • Packs and replenishes trolleys to the required standard at the end of each shift, therefore minimizing lost time at the start of each shift.
  • Advises Supervisor/Manager of any stock shortages, therefore minimizing delays in servicing rooms.
