Avalanche Awareness Days

The Lake Louise Ski Resort is committed to championing safe and responsible outdoor pursuits. As one of the 40+ communities that take part in Avalanche Awareness Days, Lake Louise has plenty of exciting and educational activities planned. Our Avalanche Safety professionals will be on hand at various locations throughout the weekend to provide general and Lake Louise specific information on avalanche safety.

Schedule

Both Saturday & Sunday:

  • 10:00am - 3:00pm: Visit the Lake Louise tents at the Base Area to get started.
  • 10:00am - 12:00pm: Free Beacon Practice (Meet us at our Beacon Plot, provided by Ski Patrol Canada, on Pika Run.)
  • 10:00am - 12:00pm: Free Snow Profile Talks (Meet on Saddleback Run, under ER-5.)
  • 10:00am - 12:00pm: West Bowl Info (Top of Juniper Lift)
  • 1:00pm - 3:00pm: Free Beacon Practice (Meet us at our Beacon Plot, provided bySki Patrol Canada, on Pika Run.)
  • 1:00pm - 3:00pm: Free Snow Profile Talks (Meet on Saddleback Run, under ER-5.)
  • 1:00pm - 3:00pm: West Bowl Info (Top of Juniper Lift)

*Stop by anytime during these time periods.  No need to register, just drop in!

Avalanche Training Passport

Feeling extra keen? You can choose to complete the Avalanche Training Passport for a chance to win a wicked prize, sponsored by Helly Hansen, FRESH Ski Shop, Ski West & the Lake Louise Ski Resort! This is completely free to participate (a lift ticket is required to visit the stations on the backside.)

To join in on the free event, please stop by our tent in the base area starting at 10:00am to receive your passport, map & instructions! Once you have visited all of the stations, you can come back to the tent to pick a prize!

You can join us for either Saturday or Sunday as we run the same program on both days
