Have a safe and happy New Year

Lake Louise Ski Resort

To our guests, staff, stakeholders and supporters;

As this challenging year draws to a close, we would like to give our heartfelt thanks to all our guests, staff, community members, and healthcare workers of all kinds who have supported us during this difficult time. We have shown how resilient, creative and collaborative we are when faced with adversity and uncertainty. We are all looking forward to a New Year that will be safe, happy, healthy, and secure for all of us as the light at the end of this dark tunnel becomes ever brighter.

It has been a difficult year for all of us. First, having to close early, then having a difficult summer, and finally needing to operate under strict guidelines from Alberta Health Services for only allowing a minimal number of guests into our lodges at one time and restricting the capacity on our lifts leading to longer than usual lineups. We want to thank all of you for self-distancing in lineups, wearing your masks, and generally obeying the guidelines. By doing this, you are helping us stay open, hopefully for the entire season!

Notwithstanding these challenging times, we are optimistic about the future. The new Summit Chair, and the opening of West Bowl and its vast terrain, is receiving rave reviews. Since the entry into West Bowl is challenging, we hope to construct a set of stairs into the area from the entrance above Boomerang in late January.

Today I confirmed our order for another new lift this summer, this one opening new terrain on the lower mountain to the left of the Glacier Chair as you look up the mountain. This lift will be the first of two in this area, the second, some years away, taking skiers up to the ridge in the vicinity of the new summit chair. We are also in the early planning process for a new lodge at the top of the Grizzly Express Gondola.

Once again, thank you for your support and let’s hope for a happy, healthy New Year full of adventure, love, skiing, and many more outdoor activities.

Sorry, Covid - we’ve got news for you. We are going to prevail!
