A Letter From Charlie Locke & Family

The Locke Family, the management, and all members of our staff who were living in our major staff residence – Charleston – at the time of the fire which destroyed the building on July 3rd, would like to give a heartfelt Thank-You.

Thank you to those individuals, businesses, and others in the Bow Valley, Calgary and elsewhere, including those who contributed to the Bow Valley Emergency Fund through the Banff Canmore Community Foundation, who so generously donated their time, resources, housing, clothing, and other critical necessities of life to those who lost all their possessions and documentation.

Finding alternate accommodation for our staff in the Bow Valley, where accommodation is already bursting at the seams, has been a challenge, but we managed, with your help, to do so.  Everyone was kept on the payroll while the resort was closed, housed, fed, and clothed, and funds from the resort, Bow Valley Emergency Fund, and other sources were distributed to those affected.

The Summer Gondola and most of our other facilities have re-opened, and the ski area will be fully operational this winter.  We are in the process of replacing the lost accommodation with temporary mobile trailer units and other solutions in the Lake Louise area.

Sincerely - Charlie Locke and his family - Louise, Kim, and Robin
