Big Mountain Challenge

The Lake Louise Big Mountain Challenge is back for another year! This big mountain freeride competition is non-sanctioned which means it's chill, laid back and all about FUN! Whether it's your first competition or your 20th, it is sure to be a blast!
Details
There are categories for both skiing and snowboarding for men & women who are 18 and older! Please note that each category must have a minimum of three athletes to be eligible for prizes.
Our three judges will use the same criteria as the Freeride World Qualifier and will award points for line, control, fluidity, style/energy and technique!
Please note that NO inversions will be allowed during the contest.
Prizes from our sponsors Arctery'x, Wild Life Distillery, Sundance Ski & Snowboard, Fresh Skis & Burton will be awarded for the podium finishers!

- Masters Snowboard (40+)
Note: Masters categories will only be broken out by male & female in each discipline if we receive a minimum of three participants per category.
Bibs and Gear
Competitor bibs will be worn during this event. A $40 Cash Deposit will be required during check-in; you will receive this back when the bib is returned! Helmets are mandatory. Back protectors are strongly recommended.
Athlete Package and Waiver
All participants must sign an event waiver for the Lake Louise Ski Resort, which will be sent to your email after online registration. An Athlete Package will also be emailed out to the email address provided at registration which will include Athlete Bios and event information.
Event Schedule
- 7:00am – 8:00am: Check-In inside Banded Peak Base Camp.
- 8:00am: Mandatory Athlete & Coach Meeting in person, Banded Peak Base Camp.
- 8:30am: Load chair
- 8:50am – 10:00am: Venue Inspection (no hitting of features)
- 10:00am: One Run for each Athlete (masters snowboard, ladies snowboard, men snowboard, masters ski, ladies ski, men ski)
- 2:30pm – 3:00pm: Bib return available at Banded Peak Base Camp
- 2:30pm: Awards and BMC Apres Party presented by Arcteryx and Wild Life Distillery at the Banded Peak Base Camp. We will do our best to aim for 2:30pm, but it will take place as soon as the Judges have deliberated!
REGISTRATION
Online registration opens February 13 and closes March 3 at 4:00 PM (MT).
If your category is full, please email events@skilouise.com to be added to the wait list. Should spots become available, we will contact wait listed athletes after 4:00 PM on March 3.
*Wait list athletes must confirm their spot by no later than 4:00pm March 4th. Wait listed athletes will be contacted based on category availability and in the order in which they contacted events@skilouise.com
If all categories do not fill once wait listed athletes have been confirmed, limited on-line registration will be available March 4th at 4:30pm – March 5th at 4:00pm. Available spots & categories will be announced March 4th after 4:00pm.
