Jr. Big Mountain Challenge

The event is a part of the North American Freeride Junior Tour, sanctioned by the International Freeskier & Snowboarder Association. Freeriders compete at the Lake Louise Ski Resort over the course of two days and are judged on line, control, fluidity, technique, and style. This is a National Event for ages 12 - 18!

Basic Schedule

Venue: Eagle Ridge 7 - please note venue may change due to snow coverage.

• Thursday February 26th: U12 ski & snowboard non-sanctioned contest
• Friday February 27th: U19 Ski mandatory meeting, inspection and qualifying runs
• Saturday February 28th: U15 Ski, U15 snowboard, U19 snowboard
• Sunday March 1st: Finals for all U15 + U19

Please note: the Mandatory Athlete Meetings each morning of the competition will have a roll call. If you are not present for roll-call you will not be able to compete.

Bibs & Gear

Athletes will have a bib assigned to them. A $40 Cash Bib Deposit is required at check-in. You will receive this back once the bib is returned. Helmets and Back Protectors are MANDATORY in this event. 

Athlete Package & Waivers

All participants must sign an event waiver for the Lake Louise Ski Resort as well as the IFSA. An Athlete Package will be emailed out to the email address provided on LiveHeats which will include waivers, Athlete Bios, Discounted Ticket Price Info, etc. Please ensure that your email address is accurate when you sign up as we will email parents if there are any changes to the schedule!

Great Lift Pass Options

All athletes, parents & siblings are eligible for 20% off lift tickets. Another good option for adults and kids ages 13+ is a Lake Louise Plus+Card which provides 3 free days (1st, 4th, and 7th visit) plus 20% off tickets all other days - just $155.
