First Turns Come Early to Lake Louise

Snowcat and snowmaking at Lake Louise Ski Resort. Play video for an early-opening update.

Join us this Sunday for our second-earliest opening on record!

It’s time to warm up those ski legs! Lake Louise Ski Resort opens for the 2026/27 winter season on Sunday, November 1, five days ahead of schedule and our earliest opening in five years. A helping hand from Mother Nature, cold October temperatures and around-the-clock work by our snowmaking and mountain crews have made an early return to snow possible. See photos.

Juniper Express Chair and Easy Street will be open to start, giving skiers and riders a chance to find their rhythm and enjoy their first turns of the season.

What’s Open on Sunday

First chair is at 9:30 am, with the following terrain and services available:

  • Skiing and snowboarding: Juniper Express Chair, with access to Easy Street.
  • Terrain parks: Two small early-season parks featuring jumps and rails.
  • Snow School: Lessons will be available, with the beginner area open. Contact Snow School for details and availability.
  • Dining: The Lodge of Ten Peaks Cafeteria, Slopeside Coffee and Powder Keg Lounge will be open for meals, coffee and après.
  • Rentals, retail and tuning: Pick up equipment, browse winter essentials or get your skis or snowboard ready for the season. Arrive early if you need rentals or tuning before heading out.

Terrain will be limited at the start of the season. Opening day is a chance to get back on snow and warm up for the winter ahead, with additional lifts and runs opening as conditions allow.

More to Explore This Winter

Following our snowiest season on record, we’re looking forward to a winter with new terrain options, better connections and lift upgrades across the resort.

Work throughout the summer has included:

  • Richardson’s Ridge improvements: New runs, expanded glading and additional snowmaking.
  • Better mountain connections: New connecting runs, including Prunepickers and Pikaboo, plus improvements to Good Intentions and other busy trails to help skiers and riders move between areas.
  • Top of the World Chair upgrades: Increased loading capacity, upgraded electrical and control systems, and a more energy-efficient drive system.

These improvements will give you more to explore as terrain opens throughout the season. Explore what’s new for winter 2026/27.

We look forward to welcoming you back this Sunday. Check our conditions page for the latest lift, terrain and operating updates before your visit.
