Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 12, 2025

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which The Lake Louise Ski Resort (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (“Users”) of the https://www.skilouise.com website (“Site”). This policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by The Lake Louise Ski Resort.

1. Personal Identification Information

We may collect personal identification information in various ways, including when Users visit the Site, register, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey, or interact with features or services. Users may be asked for their name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information, and date of birth. We collect this information only when voluntarily submitted. Users can decline to provide personal information, though doing so may limit access to certain Site features.

2. Date of Birth

We collect Date of Birth (DOB) for certain products (e.g., Louise Plus Card, Season Pass) for the following reasons:

  • Age-Based Pricing: DOB allows us to determine the correct product type (e.g., youth, student, senior) based on age as of a specific eligibility date.
  • System Matching: DOB helps us link orders across systems to ensure accurate entitlement tracking.
  • Kiosk Verification: DOB is used at ticketing kiosks to confirm that a product belongs to the correct user.
  • Direct-to-Lift (DTL) Charges: DOB determines the appropriate ticket type and ensures the correct amount is charged to your credit card.

Providing DOB is optional. However, users who do not provide DOB may be unable to use some features. Please visit Guest Services for assistance if you prefer not to provide this information.

3. Non-Personal Identification Information

We may collect non-personal identification information, such as browser type, device, operating system, IP address, and technical data about Users' connection to our Site. This data is used to improve website performance and user experience.

16. Operational & Security Cameras

The Lake Louise Ski Resort uses cameras in various areas for informational, operational, and security purposes:

a) Public Webcams

We operate live webcams at select public locations on the mountain and in the base area to provide real-time resort views. These webcams are intended for guest information and promotional purposes. They are not intended for identifying individuals. Some time-lapse or snapshot footage may be archived for short periods.

b) Lift Station Monitoring

We use non-public cameras to monitor the operation of lift stations for safety and logistical oversight. These cameras help our team observe activity at high-traffic areas and are not actively monitored for individual tracking.

c) Security Cameras at Lodges

Security cameras are installed both inside and outside our lodge buildings to support guest safety, facility security, and loss prevention. Access to this footage is restricted to authorized personnel only.

These camera systems are used solely for safety, incident verification, and operational purposes. They are not used for facial recognition or marketing.
