Get Set for Bow Valley Kids!

Below you’ll find helpful answers to the most common questions parents have about our Bow Valley Kids Programs.

Our multi-week Bow Valley Kids programs start at age 5. For ages 3–4, we offer Bow Valley Juniors programming. We also have a fully licensed daycare available at the resort, which you can learn more about here.

All groups, except Juniors, meet in the Beginner Area. Look for your instructor at the sign that matches your child’s level. To access the Beginner Area, you’ll need to show your lift ticket to the mountain greeter. Parents without a pass will be given a walking passenger ticket to enter the area.

Bow Valley Kids Juniors meet separately, in front of the Daycare building.

Your Bow Valley Kids(5+) instructor will be ready to meet your child in the Base Area starting at 9:45am, with lessons beginning right at 10am. Junior Programs begin at 10:30am. Please be on time so your group can start the day together! If you need to collect season passes or other ticketing products on the first weekend, we please ask that you give yourselves plenty of time.

If you’re late, don’t worry—you can catch up with the group at lunchtime. Please just send us a quick email at bowvalley.kids@skilouise.com so the group isn't delayed. Alternatively, if you need to pick your child up early, please sign them out at lunchtime to keep the day running smoothly for everyone.

If your child will miss a day, please email bowvalley.kids@skilouise.com with:

  • Your child’s name
  • The date
  • Their instructor’s name

This helps the instructor adjust plans without keeping the group waiting.

Bow Valley Kids (ages 5+):

  • 10:00am – 4:00pm, with lunch from 12:30pm – 1:30pm.

Bow Valley Juniors (ages 3–4):

  • Either 10:30am–12:30pm OR 1:30pm–3:30pm, depending on your selected session.

Yes! A supervised, buffet-style lunch is included for all Bow Valley Kids (5+) participants. Groups eat together in a private space at Whitehorn Lodge, along with their instructors.

Younger children (Levels 1, 2, and 3) will eat in the Base Lodge for the first few weeks, until they’re skiing or riding confidently on the mountain.

Note: Lunch is not included for Junior Program participants.

You’re absolutely welcome to say hi during the lunch break! We kindly ask you to come at the start or end of lunch to avoid disrupting the group. Seating is limited and priority is given to the kids in the program.

Kids can’t leave the program on their own unless a Departure Agreement form is completed and submitted in advance. Once your registration is processed, we’ll email you the form.

Note: If we haven’t received the signed form 72 hours before the program begins, you’ll need to sign your child out in person on the first day.

Here’s a handy checklist:

  • Lift ticket or Season Pass (Walking tickets are available for drop-off/pick-up for Parents)
  • Completed Departure Agreement and optional Model Release Form
  • Ski or snowboard gear, including helmet (equipment is not included in the program fee)
  • A face covering
  • Hand & toe warmers and snacks (optional but recommended!)

Tips are never expected, but always appreciated! If your child had a great day, a kind word, positive review, or gratuity is a lovely way to say thanks. Our Snow School Reservations Team is happy to help if you’d like to leave a tip.

Your child’s health & safety is always our top priority. On very cold days, we mix shorter time outdoors with indoor games and activities to keep everyone warm and having fun.

We also use the Whitehorn Lodge basement as a cozy mid-mountain warm-up space.

Please dress your child in layers appropriate for the weather, including:

  • Thermal long underwear
  • Ski socks
  • Mittens (better than gloves!)
  • A toque and face covering
  • Hand/toe warmers (available in the retail shop)

Check our cold weather guidelines for more details and the conditions page for the latest updates.

Yes! We’ll do our best to accommodate instructor requests, depending on availability. Be sure to let us know your preference upon registering.

We understand that life happens sometimes! For multi-week programs, we offer refunds for cancellations made at least 7 days prior to the program start date, minus a $25 non-refundable booking fee. Since the program is sold as a package, individual or missed lessons are not refundable, and there is no option to switch days once the program has started.

Please note that adverse weather conditions do not qualify for refunds, as skiing and snowboarding are outdoor activities.
